Rescue Dogs

At Archway Boarding Kennels we often have rescue dogs which we are looking to find a good home for. Below is a small selection, but please contact us if you are interested in homing a dog and we will discuss your requirements with you.

Jake

Approx 2 years old. He had a bad start in life not socialised, trained or played with.

He has learnt to respect Claire who looks after him and will behave with the other girls. He will now play with toys, sit and wait, he is virtually house trained however it is difficult in a Kennel environment.

He could be a loyal pet to the right person however time and patience have got to be the biggest indicator in Jake moving forward. Re-homing suggestion for this very big strong dog is a less busy childless household with an experienced dog person who is prepared to work hard for a result and a friend!

Oscar

Oscar is a brindle cross breed and about 2 and a half years old.

He is good with adults and children - originally found as a stray at approx 6 months old. He was adopted at about 1 year by a wonderfull family who loved him but they sadly parted with him as their circumstances changed.

He is now here waiting to go back and live in a family home with lots of qualities to offer.

Shireen

Shireen is a cross breed about 5 years old.

Found as a stray puppy in India, has travelled much of India after spending her young puppy days at the university with her new owners.

After graduation her new owners travelled through India with Shireen and then came to England. Shireen spent 6 months in quarantine and then went home with her family. 4 months down the line their circumstances changed and they could no longer keep Shireen.

She is a dog who needs to get to know you. She loves to be brushed and loves having her back scratched. She doesn't like other dogs or people touching her stuff like her toys, bones and food.

Sam

Sam is a greyhound approx 6 years old. Sam is a casterated male, quite an easy dog with spurts of energy.

An easy dog to care for - he just needs a comfy setee to become a much loved couch potatoe!

Exercise well but book it well in advance so he can prepare himself for it!

Buster

A retired racer, a clean dog, very easy going.

Could possibly be a good family pet with good introduction time and a great deal of care and understanding. Approx 5 years old.

Mason

A staffie cross. Approximately 4 years old male. Mason is not a dog for the busy household. He needs to be somewhere there are no children or pets.

He is very good with adults. His start in life was not brilliant, he lived in a garden shed with a collie and they eventually fought.

To the right person he has a lot of qualities to offer.

Snoopy

Snoopy has been boarding for 3 years. She came to use at 12 weeks of age, her owner kept her here until last July and then he decide to have her rehomed.

She obviously loves females as they look after her, however her owner was a male and he used to come and walk her regularly. She has a lot of affection to offer the right person and does not appear to show any sign of aggression. She is however very strong and bouncy.

Her strengths and qualities would be better in a less busy household with some one who has got time to spend with her. She needs to catch up on some missed events in her life and learn all about living in the home.

Children are not reccomended as part of Snoopys new life as she will have so much to cope with.

Norman

I am very playfull and love to lie out in the sun. I am very clean and like adults. Children are ok but I do not want them to pull me or tease me.
